Color, I think it was a matter of color.
Color enclosed in snow globes that look like dandruff,
the light that reflects making everything seem more beautiful, everything happier
and, above all, everything simpler.
And simple it wasn’t twenty years ago, saying it to friends, saying it to relatives,
saying it to the world that surrounds you and of which you are a part.
Maybe it’s never simple.
And saying it to yourself, finally.
This is what the balls are for, this is what the color is for, so much color,
the rainbow belongs to no one and shines for everyone,
you just need to be able to see it.

…una delle poche cose che so dire in francese.
Colore, credo che fosse stata una questione di colore.
Colore racchiuso nelle palle di vetro con la neve che sembra forfora,
la luce che si riflette facendo sembrare tutto più bello, tutto più felice
e, soprattutto, tutto più semplice.
E semplice non lo era vent’anni fa, dirlo agli amici, dirlo ai parenti,
dirlo al mondo che ti circonda e di cui fai parte.
Forse non è mai semplice.
E dirlo a te stesso, finalmente.
A questo servono le palle, a questo serve il colore, tanto colore,
l’arcobaleno non è di nessuno e splende per tutte e tutti,
basta essere capaci di vederlo.
