I think giving oneself and others time is quite useful in life. It was the same with my coming out. After coming out to my parents, it’s often followed by a phase of anger and then a phase of ignoring. In my case, it was a very looooong phase. It lasted for 10 years. 10 years without asking about my girlfriends, without getting to know them, without any comments. I had even stopped expecting it to ever be different, and then after 10 years, they invited me and my partner for lunch. And that lunch was very dear and pleasant
