The Horseshoe

Story:
Why a horseshoe, you may wonder…
My journey of discovering my sexual identity started with going to college and exploring “adulthood” and independence. I have loved horses since I was a child, and I always wanted to live in a cabin, with horses that graze freely in the pastures while the sun sets. My path took me to a ranch where my eyes were “opened”. That’s when it became clear to me why relationships didn’t work before and who I’m actually attracted to, and why.
After meeting a girl, I discovered that I was actually interested in women… But more importantly – I also got to know myself.
Since I am interested in the equestrian world – the holistic, non-sporting, truly friendly one – I moved away from the traditional perspective of working with horses and rejected the classic ideas about horseshoes, whips and bridles. Through my, so called “rose-colored glasses”, I also see a link with our LGBTIQ+ community. Overcoming the outdated idea of (un)necessary equipment and directing it towards the well-being of the horse and emphasizing its freedom is connected with enabling the freedom of members of the LGBTIQ+ community.
Consequently, getting rid of the horseshoe means enabling growth, accepting yourself, following your heart and living.
